Mom, Is Starting a Home Based Business Right For You? 10 Questions to Ask Yourself by Lisa Paige

For many moms, the idea of having their own business and working from home has a lot of appeal. There are many moms who are successful home based entrepreneurs and their ranks are growing all the time. But starting a home based business isn’t necessarily the best choice for everyone. If you are considering starting a home based business, then here are 10 questions to ask yourself.

1. Are you disciplined and dependable? Are you a self-starter who can get things done? Remember, as a business owner, you are responsible for all the work; the fun and interesting as well as the mundane. Both the successes and mistakes will be yours, too.

2. How do you get along with others? You will be working with a variety of people. Will you be able to handle both the pleasant and unpleasant personalities you will encounter?

3. How are you at decision making? As a business owner you will be faced with making many decisions about your business. Can you make decisions quickly and on your own?

4. Physically and emotionally, do you have what it takes to own and operate the kind of business you are considering? Are you able to work long hours on your feet or handle the stress of dealing with customers?

5. Are you optimistic? Attitude is everything and a home based business comes with many challenges. Will you be able to learn from your mistakes and move on? Will you be able to look forward to your daily work, despite the challenges?

6. Are you passionate about what you do? If you don’t enjoy what you do and if you aren’t willing to be emotionally involved with your work on some level, then your lack of passion will show in your work and will weaken your determination to make your business a success.

7. Do you have the desire to achieve success? Are you resolved to make your business work despite the bumps in the road?

8. Are you willing to learn? Honing your talents and skills, educating yourself and gaining new skills, and learning from your triumphs as well as your failures will be vital to the success of your business.

9. Are you good at planning and organizing? If you aren’t, are you willing to learn? The success of your business, as well as your reputation, may depend on how well you plan and organize.

10. How will a home based business affect your family? The way you use your time and the demands made upon you will be different. Will these changes be a positive or negative thing for your family? Will your family be supportive of your business?

Starting your own home based business takes a lot of effort, but the keys are passion, optimism and confidence about your work. If you were able to give positive answers to most of the above questions, then perhaps you are ready to take the next steps in starting your own home based business. Are you ready?

3 Fantastic Strategies to Overcome Procrastination With Your Goals
By Shawn Lim

As you may already know, goal setting is a very famous process in achieving success. Almost 90 percent of people who are pursuing what they want in their life will make use of goal setting to achieve what they want. In fact, goal setting is a ‘must have’ process in your journey to success. However, of all the people who set their goals, only a few of them actually achieve their goals. Why is this so?

The answer is because most people, after setting their goals, they procrastinate in taking action, and therefore, they fail to achieve what they want. If this is the situation you are facing right now, I have 3 fantastic strategies for you to over procrastination with your goals.

1. Always remind yourself of your goals. This is an easy step, but many people do not do it. For instance, right after you have written down your goals, you can stick your goals sheet on your table, in front of your bed, etc. Where you stick it is not a point, the main reason for you to do is that you want to get yourself always reminded of your goals. This will make sure that you know that you still have a mission to accomplish. By the way, if you do so, you will somehow condition your subconscious mind about your goals. It is your subconscious mind that will bring out the drive and motivation in you to take action toward your goals. So make sure you follow through this step.

2. Taking small action towards your goals everyday. Although taking small steps toward your goals will not bring you instant result, but it is exactly what you need in order to make your goals come true. To achieve what you want in your life is not a sprint, it is a marathon. If your goal is to be a millionaire, you will never achieve it in just 24 hours. So what you need to do is to understand that it is the small steps that you took everyday that lead you to your goals. Many people underestimate small steps. Actually, it is the small steps that will bring you to what you want.

For example, if your goal is to become a rich man, then take small action steps every single day. You can visit your local bookstore, buy some wealth books, and read them everyday. Or you can also register for any wealth seminars or courses, read at least an article everyday, take the necessary action to make your goals come true. Remember, it is these small action steps that will bring you to what you want, so take consistent action everyday from now on.

3. Put yourself on the line. Once you have set your goal, force yourself into the situation where there is no other way but to achieve your goals. By doing so, you are leaving yourself with no way out but to achieve what you want. How can you do this? Very simple, make a public commitment. Tell everyone you know about what you want to achieve in your life, tell them your goals and how are you going to achieve them. This way, you are leaving yourself with no other choice but to achieve your goals.

There you have them, the 3 fantastic strategies to overcome procrastination with your goals. I believe that if you are following all these 3 strategies above, you will definitely achieve your goals; it is just a matter of time before you see the results. Success will not fall from the sky, you have to take action to make it come true. So start writing down your goals, stick them anywhere you can see it everyday, then take small action steps toward your goals everyday, and of course, don’t forget to put yourself on the line.
